The Adrian Frey Trio presents a personal version of a contemporary jazz piano trio sound.
The three musicians have developed a powerful poetic vision through the compositions of the pianist.
The open treatment of harmony, rhythm and form leads to a sound with changing colors, strong vitality and melodic lines.
With almost telepathic communication, a solid sense of swing and a well focused and clear conception the trio creates a music full of imaginative interplay, diverse grooves and musical surprises.
The Adrian Frey Trio is part of the Swiss jazz scene for many years. Their CD „The Sign“ (2001) was applauded by critics in Switzerland and abroad.
In 2004, Adrian Frey’s compositions „Objects & Moments“ for Jazz Trio and String Orchestra had its premiere in several concerts throughout Switzerland.
In March 2010 the new cd „no flags“ was released on unit records.
